AFRICAN TRENDS AT ITS BEST

One thing about our African culture is its richness and originality i.e ability to bring out trendy outfit from our African background, Makeeda clothings is one of the great designers that place value on the importance of African culture.

Another lovely shoot with Deola of Deolagold Photography made me to appreciate culture more with her sense of creativity and inspirations.

Introducing Tobi one of the models for that day alongside with sweet collections from Makeeda, i was inspired to styled the shoots with lovely Ankara jackets and shorts. The moment  i set my eyes on the jacket i fell in love with it, simple and trendy with a bum pant like shorts which worked .

FREEDOM FOR THE AFRICAN WOMAN

Whenever the word AFRICAN is used, it tends to mean something indigenous from a particular cultural background. The shoot with Waje, one of the renowned and talented singers of our time, down to earth person with a good reputation in the music industry, was all about freedom for us Africans to be explore beyond our geographical zone in terms of our dressing. KIC happens to be the official stylist for the shoot and Florence as the contributing stylist.

ARABIAN SPLENDOUR

Arabian Outfits has this kind of feel and look thats unique and cool. It has been so manipulated in our today fashion that it comes out in different patterns, shades and designs. Kalu a nollywood star actor rocking a decent, simple and mature arabian top with a well  alligned and detailed button which contributes to the beauty of the top. Arabian outfits shouldnt be an everyday thing, it should be rocked occasionally. In line with the arabian top is the harem pants which is also called a parachute pant a long baggy pants tappered at the ankle in most cases with side flaps on the hips and bottom. It should never be worn with a bougous top inorder not to loose it originality and the nerdy kinda look. I was priviledged to be a contributing stylist on the platform of Kelu Image consultant. It was really a cool expereince and Kalu made the styling easy.

TIME OUT WITH A PHOTOGRAPHER CHILDHOOD FRIEND.

Hmmm ADeolaGold where should i start from......We had our childhood experience together ranging from the same home town into secondary school down to the university. We even sang in the same choral group(Vessels in the house) but am not sure if she still sing. She invited me up to style one of her photoshoots and i was overwhelmed by her display of knowledge. She's an epitome of innovations and can think outside the box. Debola one of the models for the day in an outfit from House of Makeeda.

One thing about African outfit is its Originality, a show of our culture which gives us a sense of belonging. Titi Adu, a model showing the importance of our culture and appreciating our own outfit

MEN'S STYLING

Add caption
Style to most men means high end, high priced and highly unattainable which should not be. Style is meant or should be a mind set, a feeling that comes naturally when you wake up. You do not need to wear the same thing everyday , show some confidence in your thought and choices. Introduce some colors, different fabrics and be creative about it. The more comfortable and confident you become in your personal choices, the better you will look in any attire you choose.

Back stage with Kelu of Kelu Image Consultants at the Fashion TV party held at Four Points last year.
At the Fashion TV party with one of the designers that I respect and salute her creativity, Yomi Adu, a made-to-measure brand which has been well received by many young women who love to appear both hippy and rocky at the same time. I was opportuned to contribute to the styling of her lookbook on the platform of Kelu Image Consultants. I love her choice of colors and fabrics which goes a long way in the fashion industry. Lovely jackets and dress that can be rocked for any occasion. Kindly log onto www.yomiadu.com to place your orders.
Her collections were inspired by her day-to-day style which is simple, yet sophisticated in a way swindling from a girly kinda look to a woman-like look. Not so much drama in action but all you see is creativity.
Rocking one of Kola Kuddus's collections. He is a timeless designer and i respect his sense of creativity.

This is the second runner up at the MTN Project Fame 2010, Eyo by name, in a simple but very cool Neyo kind of outfit. I guess he was singing a Neyo song and everything from head to toe starting from the glasses, the waist coat, the slim tie and the cool shirt all portray the song. The waist coat and tie made by an international designer, House of Deshina.
Another outfit I'm so loving. I love the serenity of the environment not so dramatic yet expressive. From the traditional guitar to the harem pant to the not so loud arabian top makes it a perfect look.

Sound Sultan rocking an Arabian outfit which is so different from his day to day style outfit. On a normal day you will see him rock a top and a jeans or shirt

The ability of a stylist to create a new look for a particular person and still look presentable despite of the change in look is what I call Creativity. The Styling was done by Kelu Image consultants and i was opportuned to be there as the assistant stylist.

One of my outings with the brain behind Kelu Image Consultants
Meet the one who gave me a platform in fashion styling, 'Kelu Ogunleye, Principal Consultant of Kelu Image Consultants

WELCOME

My passion and flair for styling and creativity all started during my childhood days as early as 5,6 yrs old. You will always find me combining colours, selecting clothes for my parents and siblings whenever there's a function to attend. I'm always on the look out for wrong dressing but as a child I didn't have such confidence to correct them but there's always this thing that strikes whenever I see someone who is wrongly dressed. My love for fashion styling grew up as time goes on with telling friends what to wear, how to combine colours and even what type of hair and make up to carry with a particular outfit just as a teenager though. It gives me great concern when I see people dress anyhow or combine colors not putting into consideration their size, skin colour, body type and height. I started Fashion styling proper few years back and I had the opportunity of working with a mentor and a friend Kelu of Kelu Image Consultants who gave me a platform to explore more as a fashion stylist.

Welcome to my world of Styling as I unleash more tips on dressing and styling. Dressing is an everyday, everyone's thing but styling is about SOMEBODY!.
